2 dead, 5 injured in Norwich Township single-car rollover

Two people died and five were injured after a car left the road and rolled in Norwich Township on Friday.

The crash happened early Friday morning

Two people are dead and five are injured after a car left the road and rolled in Norwich Township on Friday.

The Oxford Ontario Provincial Police, Oxford Paramedic Services and Norwich Fire Services were called to a single-vehicle collision on Cornell Road just after midnight. They found several passengers trapped and one passenger who had been thrown from the vehicle. 

One of the passengers, an 18-year-old from Brantford, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and five passengers were taken to local hospital, where one of the passengers, a 16-year-old from Mount Pleasant, was also pronounced dead.

The road was closed for several hours but has since been reopened.

The investigation is ongoing.
